A Season of Prayer

You may feel a special burden for someone in your life that is drifting from God. But before you corner them at the next holiday gathering and try to point them back to Christ, consider pointing Christ to them.

"Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her.

When you pray for others,

• The burden rests on Jesus
• The problem shrinks due to a higher perspective
• The source of your Joy is rediscovered
• The people you love are blessed

Perhaps the greatest benefit of prayer, is seeing Jesus touch the lives of a loved one in an unexpected way.

So He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up.

Remember that God sees more than the problems of the moment. His readiness to answer our prayers for others may be linked to their readiness to serve Him.

The fever left her, and she began to serve them.…

And you never know, but God may be using their story, and your prayers, as a part of a MUCH bigger plan!

After sunset, people brought to Jesus all who were sick and [even] demon-possessed, and the whole town gathered at the door.

God wants to answer our prayers for others today, but what's more is this: that He is preparing them to know His Son personally, to serve in His Kingdom eternally, and to be a part of His redemptive plan for their whole town, and for the whole world.

Consider that, and point Christ to your loved ones during this season of prayer.

Scriptures take from Mark 1:30-33

COMMUNION SELFIE // The bread and the Cup. What we do in remembrance and obedience we also do in communion with Jesus. His body was broken. His blood poured out. But he is alive today in you and me. As Christians gather around the world in worship, we are the most diverse group on the planet, politically, ethnically, and economically, all drawn together by the most unifying King of Kings. #sandystoriesblog #leadership #communion #joy #bangkok #JesusLovesYou #aliveinus

    Our Story

God called Tawni to Thailand during a mountain top experience. Her training school had planted a church in Chiang Mai and was nearing the end of their trip. The team retreated to Doi Suthep's viewpoint for prayer over the city. As she gazed out over the lush Northern province, a voice began speaking to her heart, "Will you give your life for my people here?"

    These were our dating days.

Meanwhile I was in Mongolia working with youth, teaching city kids about prayer, worship, and evangelism. God had given me the gift of evangelism, and regardless of language or hemisphere, God would put soft people in my path. While in Ulaanbaatar, for example, I was run down by a young man asking if I could tell him about Jesus. Mongolians aren't known for their hunger for God, but God is known for sending missionaries to hungry people, wherever they are.

When Tawni told me she felt God was calling her to Thailand, it hardly surprised me. What has surprised me, however, is just about every step since we moved.
